چکیده
Corrosion is one of the main issues affecting service life reinforced concrete structures. The Open Circuit Potential (OCP) technique a non-destructive method used to survey and monitor this problem. This test can also be in laboratory environment provide valuable information supporting selection process supplementary materials for durable concretes. Although qualitative commonly used, there still lack consensus on suitability specific procedures experimental analysis, such as type reference electrode influence accelerated aging (adoption wetting/drying cycles level immersion specimens). Therefore, present study aims evaluate prediction early steel corrosion activity OCP tests. paper focused testing eco-efficient cementitious composites containing industrial wastes, sugarcane bagasse ash sand (SBAS) water treatment plant sludge (WTPS), replacement natural sand. results showed that an adoption combined cycles, together with partial (rather than total) specimens NaCl solution, leads earlier appearance corrosion. allows shorten period by almost 10 weeks. It due higher access oxygen concentration free chlorides from saline solution accumulated porous system. lesser importance. Moreover, incorporation 30% SBAS 3% WTPS protection corrosion, confirming wide applicability any matrices or without wastes.

Potential monitoring system for corrosion of steel in concrete
Corrosion of steel in concrete reduces the life and durability of concrete structures. It is a worldwide problem, which causes heavy losses to the economy and industry. The corrosion of steel is inevitable. The durability of concrete structures primarily depends on the condition of the embedded steel in concrete, apart from any deterioration that the concrete may undergo. To determine the condi...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Cementitious Composites Embedded with Organic Microcapsules
The recovery behavior for strength and impermeability of cementitious composites embedded with organic microcapsules was investigated in this study. Mortar specimens were formed by mixing the organic microcapsules and a catalyst with cement and sand. The mechanical behaviors of flexural and compression strength were tested. The results showed that strength could increase by up to nine percent w...
متن کاملInnovative Applications of Steel-Mesh Reinforced Cementitious Composites
The unprecedented growth in construction activities have led to speedy consumption of global natural resources like river sand, blue metal, water, and some raw materials like limestone (for producing cement). This study explores the possibility of using Steel-Mesh Reinforced Cementitious Composites (SMRCC) as an alternative to conventional concrete, aiming at sustainability. In order to underst...
متن کاملElectrochemical Potential Monitoring of Corrosion and Inhibitors Protection of Mild Steel Embedded in Concrete in NaCl Solution
The corrosion and protection behaviour of mild steel embedded in concrete, and partially immersed in 3.5% sodium chloride solution, was studied in this investigation at ambient temperature by potential monitoring technique. The work was performed with a digital multimeter and a Cu/CuSO4 electrode (CSE) as the reference electrode. Extracts of pawpaw (carica papaya) leaves and sodium nitrite in d...
